Want to see Google Fiber come to Richmond? Here’s how you can make it happen..
1. Nominate us
Let the folks at Google know why Google Fiber should come to our city — it only takes a couple minutes! Follow the previous link and click on “Nominate your community” — you’ll need a Google Account!
Google wants to know why they should build a fiber-to-the-home network in Richmond. Some general examples how the City will benefit include but certainly are not limited to:
- Economic development tool to attract and retain businesses to the city.
- Increases educational and employment opportunities for all residents
- Spur advancements in economic development in health care, medicine, energy, and technology.
- Provide support for all levels of education including VCU, UR, VUU, J. Sargeant Reynolds, and the Richmond Public School System.
- Provides additional and easy access to government services citizens (such as business registration, filing taxes and getting information on local laws electronically).
